Charles River Lab Vigil #47

  • Charles River Laboratories 3121 U.S. 209 Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

***We are asking everyone who attends our vigils to please be on alert and pay attention to what is going on around you. Please stand back from the road a little. What we do out there is peaceful and hurts no one yet it causes very angry reactions from some people. Our main concern when we are holding a vigil is that everyone is SAFE.***

We also suggest people post here if you would like to organize a carpool. Several neighbors have told us not to park in front of their houses (which we will respect since it is their property) but that leaves less parking spaces nearby.

Join us to hold vigil for all of the animals this evil company profits off of. They make money off of the pain and torture of innocent animals. These animals are truly the most silent victims. We are bringing awareness to the community - we are bringing the truth of what they do into the light.

Charles River Laboratories (CRL) is the world’s largest breeder of animals for use in experiments. Half of all animals used in lab experiments are supplied by CRL.

They also conduct painful tests on animals for companies that produce industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, and pharmaceuticals. In these tests, the animals are force-fed test compounds, have experimental chemicals smeared onto their shaved skin, and are forced to inhale toxic substances. The animals may endure severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, convulsions, seizures, paralysis, and bleeding from the nose, mouth, and genitals before they ultimately die or are killed.

CRL is the second-largest importer of nonhuman primates into the U.S., bringing in thousands of monkeys who have been stolen from their homes in the wild or bred on decrepit monkey factory farms.

Our goal is to plant seeds, raise awareness and request that they change their model to non-animal testing methods.

We will have a banner and signs - all you need to bring is yourself.
